Backrooms is a first-person horror exploration game set in a maze of nearly identical yellow rooms and buzzing fluorescent lights. With few landmarks to guide you, every corridor feels familiar, and every strange sound raises the question of whether something else is nearby.

How to Play Backrooms

Explore the maze and search for a way out. Move through connected rooms, check unfamiliar passages, and pay attention to the sounds around you. The repeating walls and corridors make it easy to lose your bearings, so remember where you have been and avoid wandering in circles.

Listen carefully as you explore. Some sounds may help you find a route forward, while others can signal danger. Stay alert when entering new rooms, keep track of possible escape routes, and continue searching until you find the exit.

Controls

• WASD – Move through the rooms.
• Mouse – Look around.
• Shift – Sprint, where available.
• Esc – Pause or open the game menu.
